Overview
Carpet Cleaning done properly
Carpet holds onto far more than it shows on the surface — foot traffic, spills, pet hair, dust mites and allergens all settle deep into the fibres where a household vacuum simply can’t reach.
At Green Lion, we use hot-water extraction to flush that grime out at the root, not just off the top. Your carpets come up looking brighter, feeling softer and smelling genuinely fresh.
We’re a family-owned Point Cook business rated 5.0 from 300+ reviews, and we treat every home like our own — shoe covers on, honest quotes honoured on-site, and a finish we’re proud to put our name to.
The Green Lion difference
Hot-Water Extraction
Commercial-grade suction lifts embedded dirt and moisture in one pass, so carpets dry faster and stay cleaner longer.
Carpets stay clean longer, so you book us back less often.
Pet & Child-Safe
pH-neutral, low-tox solutions that are safe for the whole family — no harsh chemical residue left behind.
Kids and pets back on the floor as soon as it’s dry, with nothing to wash off first.
Stubborn Stain Lifting
Coffee, wine and food stains are treated at no extra charge — the stains many companies add to the bill.
The stains you’d pay extra for elsewhere cost you nothing here — and they usually lift.
Fast Dry Times
Powerful extraction means most carpets are back in use within a few hours, not the next day.
Touch-dry in 4–6 hours, so you put the room back together the same day.
Upfront Honest Quotes
The price we quote is the price you pay — confirmed on-site before we start, with no surprises.
You know the full cost before anyone starts, so there is nothing to argue about at the end.
Allergen Reduction
Deep extraction physically lifts dust mites and trapped grit out of the pile, which helps reduce what builds up at floor level.
Less dust and grit left in the pile where little ones play.
Our process
Simple, careful, thorough
- 1
Inspect & Pre-Treat
We assess your carpet type and traffic areas, then pre-spray stains and high-use zones to loosen embedded grime.
- 2
Hot-Water Extraction
Our extraction system injects heated solution deep into the pile and extracts it — along with the dirt — in one powerful pass.
- 3
Spot & Edge Detailing
We hand-work tricky stains, edges and corners so the whole carpet finishes evenly, not just the middle.
- 4
Groom & Drying Time
We groom the pile to lift the fibres, leaving your carpet soft and even. It then dries on its own — about 4–6 hours after hot-water extraction, 1–2 after a dry clean — and we tell you which applies before we go.
Steam vs dry carpet cleaning — which one suits your job
We run both methods and pick by the carpet and the deadline, not by what is loaded in the van. Here is the honest difference.
| Hot-water extraction (steam) | Dry / low-moisture | |
|---|---|---|
| Back on the carpet | 4–6 hours | 1–2 hours |
| How it works | Hot water and solution are injected into the pile, then drawn back out under suction with the soil. | A compound or encapsulant is worked into the pile, binds the soil, and is vacuumed out. |
| Suits | Built-up traffic soil, pet accidents, end-of-lease cleans, anything that has not been done in a while. | Rooms you need back the same day — offices, rentals mid-inspection, upstairs bedrooms. |
| Water used | The most. Extraction quality is what decides whether it dries well. | The least. |
| On set-in stains | The stronger of the two — the stain is flushed, not just lifted off the surface. | Good on surface soil, less effective once a stain has set into the backing. |
| Wool and delicate fibres | Yes, at controlled temperature and pH. | Yes — often the safer pick when fast drying matters. |
Drying times are for carpet and assume normal airflow. Upholstery, mattresses and rugs dry differently and we quote those without a fixed number, because the honest answer depends on the fabric and the day.

What's included
Every carpet cleaning job, done properly
- A pre-clean inspection of carpet type and problem areas
- Pre-spray and agitation of traffic lanes and stains
- Hot-water extraction that flushes out embedded dirt
- Coffee, wine and food stains treated at no extra charge
- General deodorising, and a realistic drying time before we leave
Most carpets are touch-dry within 4–6 hours.
Signs you need it
Is it time to book?
Book carpet cleaning when you notice:
- traffic lanes and darkened high-use areas
- carpet soaked by a leak, an overflow or heavy rain
- lingering odours from spills, pets or damp
- stains that a home vacuum or spot-clean won’t shift
- an upcoming inspection, sale or end of lease
Great for homes with kids, pets or high-traffic living areas. Pricing depends on the number and size of rooms, carpet condition and any heavy staining — always a free, upfront quote.
Before & after
Traffic lanes don’t come out with a vacuum
Every home has them — the darker paths through the doorways and around the furniture. A vacuum takes the loose grit sitting on top. The shading underneath is soil bonded into the fibre, and shifting it takes a pre-spray, agitation, and enough hot rinse to carry it back out.
- Traffic lanes pre-sprayed and agitated before any extraction starts
- Hot-water extraction rinses the soil out instead of leaving detergent behind to re-attract dirt
- Free general sanitising and deodorising, and touch-dry in about 4–6 hours

Carpet Cleaning FAQs
Most carpets are touch-dry within 4–6 hours, though thicker piles or humid days can take a little longer. We’ll let you know what to expect before we finish.
Yes. Wet carpet needs the water pulled out rather than mopped up or left under a fan, because the moisture that stays down in the underlay is what causes the smell weeks later. We extract with the same hot-water machine we clean with, then set the room up to dry and give you a realistic drying time before we leave. We’re open 7 days — call as early as you can, because the sooner a soaked carpet is extracted the better it comes back.
We lift far more than a household machine can — and coffee, wine and food stains are treated at no extra charge. Set-in pet urine needs a separate enzyme treatment, which we’ll quote upfront. Some very old or dye-based stains may not fully clear, and we’ll always tell you honestly what we can achieve before we start.
Yes. We clean with pH-neutral detergents from an environmentally preferable range — readily biodegradable surfactants, no solvents, no added fragrances or dyes — and hot-water extraction pulls the solution back out rather than leaving residue. Your family and pets can enjoy the carpet as soon as it’s dry.
Absolutely. We clean homes, offices, rentals and commercial premises across Point Cook and Melbourne’s western suburbs, and can work around your business hours.
If any part of the clean isn’t up to scratch, tell Jin on the day and he’ll re-do it before he packs up — he doesn’t call a job finished until you’re happy with it. If you only notice something after we’ve left, you have 7 days to call (03) 4328 5637 and we’ll come back and re-clean that area at no charge. It covers our workmanship, which is what a guarantee should mean: we won’t promise to lift a stain that’s physically permanent, and we’ll tell you that honestly before we start rather than after.
General sanitising and deodorising are included free with every job, along with treatment of common organic stains like coffee, wine and food. Pet urine odour treatment is charged separately — it’s a specialist enzyme process that takes extra time and product, so it isn’t part of the standard clean. We’ll quote it before we start, never after.
Same-day service is often available, subject to how the day is booked. We’re a local Point Cook business, so we’re usually only minutes away from Melbourne’s western suburbs — some customers have had us arrive within a few hours of booking online. Call (03) 4328 5637 to check today’s availability.
Jin — the owner. Green Lion is a family-owned local business, not a franchise, so the person who quotes your job is the person who does it. That’s 15+ years of experience on every clean, and it’s why our reviews mention him by name.
Access to the rooms, a power point and a tap. Please clear small items, and move any furniture you want cleaned underneath — we clean around whatever is left in place rather than shifting it. Let us know about problem spots or delicate fibres before we start. Pets are welcome to stay home — our solutions are pet- and child-safe once dry — though most people find it easier to keep them in another room while we work.
What it costs
Our rates, before you call
GST is included in every figure, and the quote you get is the price you pay — no extras added on the day.
- Standard room$45
- Master / living / dining / double / large room$90
- Hallway (up to 4m)$25
- Large hallway (up to 15 m²)$40
- Staircase$60
- Walk-in robe$20
Added to the cleaning price
These are extras on top of the clean, not a job on their own. For example, $45 for a standard room plus $40 treatment comes to $85.
- + Pet stain & odour treatment (per room)$40
- + Carpet fibre protection (per room)$40
$150
minimum per visit
No single item above reaches the minimum on its own, so one piece by itself comes to $150 — most people add a second one to the same visit rather than leave it on the table. The rates are what each extra piece adds.
- Add $50 once per job for an apartment, or for anywhere beyond about 25 km from Point Cook.
- Steam dries in 4–6 hours; dry cleaning in 1–2. Same price either way — the method is picked to suit the carpet.
- Coffee, wine and food stains are treated free. Set-in pet urine is the one extra, and it’s quoted before we start.
